I’ve been making super-serious posts about life lately, but tonight I think I’ll keep it simple, and down-to-earth.
Eat Liver. Yeah, like liver and onions. That crap your grandpa eats.
It’s pretty cheap. Only 3$ for 4 livers! That’s pretty cool.
It’s incredibly healthy too. Only 150 calories per liver, a lot of protein, iron, and 380% of your daily value of vitamin A!
Also, if you’re anything like me, it’s unlikely that you’ve ever had liver before. Trying new things is always a fun time, and even if you don’t like it, you’ll learn something!
Try it out!
Starting over can be a scary thing, especially when you’ve held onto the past for so long.
Sometimes it seems like you can’t shake the past. It has a grip on you that just won’t loosen.
But that’s not true. You always have the option to start over. You can always begin again.
There’s no need to ridicule yourself for past mistakes or slip-ups. That’s just the pain talking.
Instead, learn from your mistakes. Learn from your past even, but never hold onto it.
It’s not real, and it doesn’t matter. Starting over is a beautiful opportunity. Don’t be afraid.
I know your initial thought might be to disagree, but I’m telling the truth.
The only thing the past can do is make you unhappy. Unhappy memories lead to unhappiness and cause you to forget the present.
Even happy memories cause unhappiness because those memories are no longer real.
I’m still realizing this, and it’s taking a while, but I’m getting there, I swear. All the past does is cause you to cheat the present moment, which is all you will ever have.
So ditch the past, live life and open up the present that is right now.
I mentioned a few posts ago that I’ve been listening to The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle.
One of the main points of the book is the reiteration that you are not your mind. The mind tries to take control of us, manipulate us, and convince us of things that aren’t true.
I don’t know about you, but this is a very freeing concept for me. As they say, your mind can be your best friend or your worst enemy.
Recently mine has been alternating between the two, but I’m working on becoming friends with him. Wish me luck!
You are important.
Your presence has an influence on more people than you know. You being you impacts multitudes of people every day. And you don’t even have to do anything, besides be yourself.
Never underestimate the power that you have as an individual. You have words, passion, wisdom, power beyond what you could ever imagine.
Never let your mind tell you that you are unimportant or not good enough, because that’s bullshit. You’re more than good enough. You’re you.
Embrace that, be you. Be you more than you ever have before.
Why? Because no one else can.
It’s not even eleven o’clock in the morning and I’m done with most of what I have to do today.
It’s a good feeling.
When I woke up this morning, I knew what all I had to do today, so I did it. And it’s paying off pretty nicely.
So my advice today is to know what you’ve got to do: get up early, and get it done.
However, that doesn’t mean do everything. If you try to tackle too much in one day you’ll stress yourself out.
So be reasonable, do what you can early, and then be done.
I am impatient, impulsive, and concerned with my health.
Today I did some reading about how bad constantly sitting in a chair is for our health; I was motivated to do something.
So I researched: a standing desk sounds good, but isn’t feasible.
“What about sitting on the floor?”
Constant sitting is never a good thing, but if you must, sit on the floor, it’s a more natural position for our bodies.
I went to the Goodwill and bought a coffee table, which is now my “desk.” I’m trying to get acclimated.
It’s weird, and random, but I like it.
